Muharram/Ashura celebrations

Question:

Is it permissible to give each other Muharram/Ashura gifts. Nabi صلي الله عليه وسلم said we should exchange gifts with each other, so what's wrong with exchanging gifts in Muharram?

Answer:

It is bidah to exchange gifts on the occasion of Aashurah.

Giving gifts is meritorious, but to specify a certain time or occasion for it is bidah.

Neither did Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), his Sahaabah (radhiallahu anhum) nor any of the Salf Saaliheen exchange gifts on the occasion of Ashurah.

There is no Shar'i basis for exchanging gifts on Aashurah. This innovation is the result of misinterpretation of the Ahaadith Shareef.

May Allah Ta'ala guide us all to adhere to the Pure Sunnah of Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam).

'My friends care for me. You [my parents] do not! I'm better off with them. Only they understand me, so stop telling me what to do in MY life.'

Very common and disrespectful statements from children these days..

Your helper (friend) is none but Allah and His Messenger and those who have believed - those who establish salaah and give zakah, and they bow [in worship].

If you have friends like those mentioned in the Ayah, then you have true friends. These friends direct you to what is good for you.
